Romantic Puerto Vallarta

The romantic Puerto Vallarta area is know as the Romantic Zone or Old Town Vallarta even though you can find romance in every corner of this beautiful tropical paradise.  Beach weddings, honeymooners and lovers are found all over Vallarta.  Romance is in the air.

This is where you will find many Puerto Vallarta hotels and the Malecon seaside promanade. Up above it is the neighborhood of Gringo Gulch. The art lovers will enjoy The Annual Art Walk, starting at the end of October. So as you can see there is lots to do and see in romantic Puerto Vallarta.

I do not suggest driving in this area as the streets are made of cobblestone and are very narrow. If you do not want to walk, take a taxi to get to where you are going. Here is a handy free map of the area that you can print off.

Los Muerto's Beach is the most crowded beach in Old Town Vallarta. If you enjoy people watching then this is the place for you. You can have a cold beer, meet new people or join in on some of the activities. The International Friendship Club hosts a Happy Hour here every Friday and everybody is welcome.

Puerto Vallarta Nightlife

Enjoy the delicious smells coming from the numerous restaurants, cafes and street vendors as you explore the area. Restaurants in this area have world famous chefs. The International Gourmet Festival is held here in November.

Romantic Puerto Vallarta is a great spot to shop. You can find everything you need in the many ma and pa shops. You will not find any giant name brand stores here. They have everything from very crafty mementos to Mexican handmade shoes.

The Old Town Farmers Market is a favorite with the locals and tourists. There is nothing more delicious than their fresh produce, cheese, ice cream and chocolate. This is open every Saturday from November to May, hours are from 9:30AM to 2:00PM.

There is also a new Summer Farmer's Market located across the street from The Abbey Hotel. Also open on Saturdays from 9:30 am till 12:30pm. They have similar products to the Old Town market.

There are plenty of bars and nightclubs to choose from. If you are looking to have some good food, fun and some drinks, you should be able to find a place in the Romantic Zone as this is where the nightlife is.

This area is nothing like staying at one of the All Inclusive Resorts. Old town will give you a sense of what living in Puerto Vallarta would be like. Yes, romantic Puerto Vallarta is the place to be.
